Oleksiy Sai
Kyiv-based artist
works with various media, and is best known for his author’s invention — the practice of Exel-Art.
He was nominated for the PinchukArtCentre Award in 2009. He has exhibited at Black Square Gallery (Miami, USA), Saatchi Gallery (London, UK), Bunsen Goertz Gallery (Nuremberg, Germany).

Graduated from the Kyiv Art and Industrial Technical School with a degree in graphic design in 1993 and the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in 2001, department of easel graphics.
Originally from Kyiv.
The full-scale war forced him and his family to move to Chernivtsi. Now Oleksiy has returned to Kyiv.
Works from the series “news”, by artist Oleksiy Sai, are devoid of text and almost abstract in form.
Numerous photos on the web reference these smokes, which depict the place of the explosion, but blur the background for security reasons.
Although shown without context, each of them has a specific location and consequences. The works in the series are not much different from each other, as well as the smokes themselves at the begining of the war; they all have the same nature.
